Alex is a partner and environmental lawyer with the global firm Dentons LLP. He leads the Canada Region Environment and ESG practice groups and is a member of the leadership team in the Dentons Global Environment and ESG groups.  He provides representation and strategic advice to domestic and international clients on all environmental and sustainability matters including regulatory compliance, contaminated land, project approvals, ESG, climate change, Brownfield  redevelopment, risk management, TDG and environmental issues in corporate M&A and financings.  Alex has resolved environmental disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation and defends clients facing environmental prosecutions.  He is an experienced mediator and arbitrator of environmental disputes and served on the Alberta Environmental Appeals Board from 2007 to 2021 and was Board Chair from 2015 to 2021.  Alex is ranked as a leading environmental lawyer by Chambers Global and Chambers Canada and is profiled in The Lexpert American Lawyer Media Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, Who’s Who Legal and in Best Lawyers and is rated by Practical Law Company as a recommended Environmental Lawyer.
